Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Cod-E was surrendered after his owner passed away. He is a typical Aussie with a wiggly butt and a love for anyone and everyone. He is full of energy and would do well in a home that will give him lots of play/walk time throughout the day. He should be potty trained. While he did come form a house with other dogs, he has not been a fan of other male dogs here at the shelter. He would do best in a home without younger children as he does not like being poked at or pinched. Cod-E can jump a 5 foot fence, but has not been able to jump the 6 foot fence. He does not like being left alone and will bark when kenneled(eswpecially when he can hear people nearby). Cod-E is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Green Bean

Australian Shepherd Catahoula Leopard Dog

Male, 4 yrs 7 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Green Bean was adopted in 2021 and returned from a neglectful situation. He is a happy boy that loves attention. He is still very puppy like in his energy and needs a home that can give him the exercise that he deserves. He is not low maintenance at all. He does very well with other dogs, cats, and kids. He does, however, like to antagonize any cat in a home and eat litter. He needs some serious leash work. He usually does well with meeting new people but will let it known if there is someone that comes into his home that he does not like. He previously had separation anxiety in his very first home in 2021 and he broke a window when left alone. It is strongly recommended to crate him while gone. He can break out of regular wire crates after about an hour or two in one, so we also recommend getting a heavy-duty crate. Green Bean is a very, very energetic dog. He lacks all manners and will jump on you, run from you, and invade personal space any chance he can get. He is a counter surfer and will try to eat anything left on them when given the chance. He is food aggressive towards both people and animals. He also gets very protective over his toys from other animals. Green Bean is neutered, fully vaccinated, microchipped, heartworm negative and on prevention.

Chief

Australian Shepherd Mixed Breed (Medium)

Male, 8 yrs 2 mos
Stephenville, TX
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)
Details
Not good with kids, Not good with dogs, Not good with cats, Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Chief was surrendered to us due to his owner passing away. He is a very sweet and somewhat vocal dog. He does okay on a leash but does not like long walks. He has done well with older children. Chief doesn't know how to load up in a car but once in one, he likes to stay near anyone who is in the car with him. He is friendly with female dogs but has a problem with other males. We do always highly recommend a meet and greet with any current household dogs. We do not know how he is with cats or livestock. He loves attention. He seems to be kennel trained but may need a refresher course. Chief has received all his vaccines, de-wormer, a microchip, and a neuter. Chief did test positive for heartworms and has started the slow-kill method of treatment. He will need to be kept on an ivermectin based heartworm preventative until he can be retested in a year.
