Story
AUSSIE, very active, unbelievably smart. She’s 4 years old and weighs around 25 lbs Sissy needs to be in a home with an active lifestyle. Aussies are incredibly smart dogs that are motivated to learn & please you. If you don’t have experience with this breed, we highly recommend you do your research before applying. Australian Shepherds need to have a job and if they don’t, they will quickly assign themselves one. From Sissy's foster mom: Sissy is a high-energy dog who would thrive in a home with at least one other dog or a highly active owner who wants to walk her often. She loves going to the dog park and is very sociable. Having a fenced yard would be best since Sissy prefers to run around outside. She loves being brushed and loved on. She is house-broken and scratches at the door to go out. She is crate-trained and sleeps through the night. She is a very fun dog.FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. The adoption fee Includes Age-Appropriate Vaccinations (DA2PPV, Bordetella, Rabies), Deworming, Spay/Neuter, Microchip, Flea/Tick/Heartworm Prevention, and Sheltering. Story
Knox is a beautiful one-year old Australian Shepherd, weighing 40 pounds. In our home hequickly bonded with our dog Maxie, following her, learning from her and sleeping close together.Knox is good with our cat, curious but mostly ignores her.At the dog park, Knox loves everyone, is very energetic and playful. His herding instincts couldbe there, but no interference to others. He seems to be submissive when meeting new dogs.Knox is shy with people. He is building relationships, realizing that people are good and kind.Knox is leashed trained, very seldom does he pull ahead; he walks by my side and stops when Istop. At this point Knox cannot be off leash. We are working on this with a long lead rope and the“come” command. He is house trained; he needs to go outside 4-5 times/day. Knox has acrate but prefers to be in a closed-door bedroom when left home alone (although he has Maxiewith him). He has not chewed or destroyed anything in our home.Knox would be best in a home with another dog, and a fenced-in yard or dog park to run andplay with other dogs.My adoption fee (if picked up locally in Crossville, Tennessee) is $275. If transport is needed, my adoption fee is $575 (out of state, East Coast, Great Lakes or New England regions)FOCCAS is a foster based, non-profit rescue in Crossville, TN. Story
Wyatt is 1 yr old Husky/Australian Shepherd mix with strong breed characteristics. Super friendly but is 60lbs and likes to use his mouth and paws to get attention. He would love a playmate around his size. Currently lives with a cat and 12lb dog who do not appreciate his attention or play style. He is smart, sweet, highly food motivated and occasionally stubborn. He loves to play disc and ball. Fully crate trained, basic obedience training and introduced to agility. He would be best with a good sized yard or someone with an active lifestyle. He has never shown any interest in escaping but does occasionally dig. I am not able to provide the active home he needs. He is a young herding dog and does small nips for affection and attention so I do not recommend a home with children. I travel frequently between SW VA and Southern Ohio and willing to transport him for the right home. Currently enrolled in a 3 week training program to work in manners, greeting and loose leash walking.

Story
Aspen is a happy playful 4 year old dog with 3 legs. She lost her leg 3 years ago from bouncing around and getting caught in her lead and falling off the steps. Despite having 3 legs it has not slowed her down at all. She still runs, jumps, and plays like she did before she lost her leg. She loves people and other animals but she thinks they all want to play wrestle. She is good with older kids but she has had an issue with our baby. Jealousy mostly, because we haven’t had as much time for her since he came and she requires A LOT of attention. She loves to love her people and be loved by her people. Aspen has never hurt anyone. Overall she has been a great dog.

Dexter Miny

Australian Shepherd Belgian Malinois

Male, 1 yr 11 mos
Rocky Mount, VA
Size
(when grown) Med. 26-60 lbs (12-27 kg)

Spayed or Neutered,
Story
Dexter is a sweet fella who needs a chance with a smart owner. He loves his people fiercely, but he can be wary of strangers at first. At long as he gets to sniff without being bombarded, he is great! Dexter has learned so much while with us! He knows to sit, down, wait, out, play fetch, and walks nicely on a leash. Dexter loves other dogs and enjoys playing. He loves frisbees, tennis balls, and belly rubs. He will never pass up a good cuddle session! Dexter is a Belgian Malinois mix, meaning he does need physical exercise and mental stimulation to keep him satisfied. In a home, Dexter may feel he needs to protect his person and home from outsiders. He needs someone to guide him and work with him through that. He is the most loyal boy and wants to please! We would prefer anyone that is interested in Dexter to have experience with the Belgian Malinois breed or Shepherd experience, but this is not required. Dexter Miny would make an incredibly loyal and loving partner in life. Please don't make Dexter wait any longer for his forever home!
