Story
Dog Name: Liberty Breed: Mix Breed Sex: F Age: 6 months Weight: 30lbs Medical Needs: Liberty's spay appointment is scheduled 7/9 at BVSPCA in Georgetown. Keeping this appointment is a condition of her adoption. Adopter must live in Delaware or within a 1 hour drive of the appointment. Housebroken: Yes- Liberty is very young so keep in mind this may be related to the fact that we are diligent at making sure she gets a chance to do her business after eating, sleeping and playing, but she hasn't had even one accident with us. We noticed she will trot to the door or the landing of the stairs when she needs to go and should get used to your routine pretty quick. Crate trained: Yes and no…. Liberty has had no accidents in there and is quiet as a church mouse once the street lamps come on (and sleeps all night without a peep). Buuutttt….put her in there during the day while you’re still home Girlfriend is going to use her outside voice to call for the PAWLICE “Nobody puts baby in the…crate …while they’re home” She is honestly happiest just hanging out by your feet chewing a bone during the day (if you're going to be home). Good in the car: Yes! She's got the makings of a great little co-pilot. She is content to sit and stare out the window or snooze. Good on a leash: Yes for a young girl! Energy level: For a young girl she's pretty low-key. She's happy to bounce around like a typical puppy but as the days have gone on she's also happy to sit with a chew toy and watch TV with you. She's a good mix of puppy energy and cuddle-bug! Need a fenced in yard: No, as long as she'll get enough exercise in other ways. Dog Friendly: YES! If yes, does your foster need another dog in its adoptive homes? No, but she has been having a blast with my resident dogs in the brief time since being introduced to them. She loves my girl pitty especially. In her previous foster home in GA, she was living with 5+ dogs and got along swimmingly. Cat Friendly? Yes. She's expressed playful interest in my kitty, but she's a puppy so could be taught to ignore kitty friends. Kid Friendly: Unknown as I don't have kids but she's just a baby so probably fine. If yes, what's the youngest child you'd recommend they be placed with? Any with supervision, she's still a puppy and could ruffle little one's feathers without meaning to. Special traits that make your foster special or that we need to know about them? Little Lady Liberty was found in Savannah, Georgia hiding under a shipping container. She got her freedom ride to Delaware a few weeks ago and is ready to meet her forever family! Liberty (yes, we do sing the Liberty Mutual song every morning while she eats her kibbles ) is my little shadow. She wants to be right by your side or snuggled up as close as she physically can at all times! She loves to flop around in the grass outside and to chew on her toys. She knows sit, and thinks treats of all kinds are so yummy! From the rough start this chick has had, you'd never know she was a little street rat up until a few weeks ago. She is sweet, eager to please with a LOT of personality and is going to be the perfect puzzle piece to fit right into someone's life. A funny, lovey-dovey little thing who can't wait to meet her forever family. Foster’s location: Long Neck/Millsboro, DE Application can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/21170/generic (if you already have an approved application on file email GrassRootsDE@gmail.com and ask the app team to pull your app ) ##2067448##
