We would love to welcome Roscoe into the Fetch + Releash family on September 15, 2024 (subject to change). In order for Roscoe to come into our care, we need a committed family. As a foster-to-adopt family, you'll be expected to take him home on his arrival date. You will then have two weeks to get to know your new furry house guest before committing to adoption. At the end of two weeks, if you choose not to move forward with adoption, we simply ask that you continue to provide a safe and loving home until his new forever family can be found.
Each bio was created by our rescue partners based on their interactions with the dogs. Fetch + Releash has a full disclosure policy however we cannot guarantee a dog against parasites or diseases, nor can we guarantee a dog's nature/behaviour. Many of these dogs are coming directly from the shelter and so you should expect there to be a transitional period. Be prepared to deal with common issues like potty training, leash walking, and socialization. Cat and kid safety assessments are often based on their personality and not necessarily on actual interactions.
Where possible, the majority of vetting will be completed prior to coming to Canada, however, foster-to-adopt families may be required to travel to our partner vet in Mississauga, ON for further vet care.
During your foster-to-adopt trial, you'll receive the support of a Fetch + Releash mentor to help you through the transition and answer any questions or concerns you may have.
Foster-to-adopt families will be required to pay a $200 deposit on the adoption fee and sign our foster-to-adopt waiver in advance. If you choose not to adopt, your $200 will be refunded to you within 30 days of your dog being adopted into a new family provided you see your pup through to adoption. If you choose not to see your dog through to adoption, you will forfeit your deposit.

Roscoe / Male / 6 years old / 90 pounds / Bulldog Mix / Medium Energy / Adores People
Roscoe was an owner surrender. His owner left him with his elderly mother who wasn’t able to manage him (given his size and her age) along with her own dog. Roscoe was in a home with his litter mate before being surrendered and he is now living his best rescued life alongside other dogs.
He is a big, loving teddy bear who is looking for someone to love and is described as “big ole lover boy”. Roscoe’s dream is to constantly be bathed in love, attention and lots of scratchies. The love he seeks from his humans he also dishes back out ten fold, hope you like kisses! He is definitely craving more one on one human attention than he is currently getting.
Roscoe has had exposure to a leash but he will need someone committed to working on mastering leash etiquette as he tends to pull. He will need a strong and confident handler due to his size and a person experienced with large breeds is a bonus. Aside from honing in on his leash skills his new family should expect to work with him on potty training, crate training, along with basic commands. It's likely he was house trained previously but has been living outdoors for quite some time now. This big lug is very eager to please so this should aid in his training.
He would do best in a home with older dog-savvy children because he likes to jump up. Roscoe is very affectionate, enjoys the company of kids and is truly just looking for someone to love him and someone he can also shower with love in return. He would be best suited for a detached home over a condo as he can be vocal when seeking attention. He would happily join a family as a second dog and during a brief cat test, it suggested he would also enjoy having a dog savvy feline friend. Ensuring proper introductions, boundaries and supervision until trust is fully established. His future family will need to work on Roscoe's confidence when it comes to being independent as his true preference is being right at your side.
Roscoe has been ready to find a family of his own for quite some time and dreams of the day he will be your loyal and devoted sidekick. You will not be disappointed welcoming this ultra loveable boy into your life.
Roscoe had eye surgery in the summer of 2022 and we are pleased to report that he is fully healed.
