Balboa is a dog that always wants to be moving! When he's not moving around or keeping his brain occupied, he'll find his own entertainment, which could lead to him getting into things he's not supposed to. He loves to play and chase toys, but doesn't quite understand how to fetch yet. He can be nervous and slow to warm up when meeting new people, but once he's comfortable he loves attention, and would likely be a good walking partner.OTHER PETS:Balboa has been friendly and playful with other dogs, so it's likely that he could get along with a dog that can match his energy and temperament. [Likely (Must Meet First)]OWNER EXPERIENCE:Because Balboa can be nervous--especially with new people--an owner who has experience and compassion with nervous dogs would be ideal for him. But if someone is truly willing and committed to helping Balboa feel safe and building his confidence, he could be a good first time dog too. [First Dog / Some Experience]KIDS:Balboa is a young dog, and so still has that typical puppy energy! He loves to play and run around, but can be jumpy at times, so kids who are old enough to not be knocked over easily would be ideal. He can also be nervous and sometimes intense about his food, so kids who are old enough to understand when to let Balboa have his own space would be the best fit. [12+ (Must Meet First)]ACTIVITY LEVEL:Balboa is a young dog with a lot of energy and wants to be on the move all the time. It's important to keep his brain busy when his body's not, so various forms of mental enrichment along with daily physical exercise would help to keep him from getting into things he's not supposed to. [Good Walking Buddy / Olympic Athlete]VETERINARY CARE: [Routine]LEVEL OF TRAINING NEEDED:Balboa is still at the beginning of his positive training journey, and will do best learning with someone who can offer both patience and confidence while he adjusts. Positive reinforcement training will help Balboa not only learn his basic cues, but also help him to feel more comfortable and confident in himself! It will provide a good opportunity for him to bond with his new owner too!
