Story
Are you looking for a new best friend to share life's adventures with? Maybe a walking partner, a cuddle buddy, or a hiking or camping partner? If so, then Beasley might just be your next family member! Beasley is a young Irish Setter mix, about 1 year old. This handsome boy was found on one of the hottest July days in recent Mississippi history at a local Dollar General store. One of our southern rescue partners found him lying in front of the door, trying to feel the cool air from inside when the door opened. He was severely emaciated and malnourished, and had a nasty case of mange. She immediately took Beasley into her care, and he has since flourished into the beautiful big boy that you see now. Beasley is currently fostered with several other dogs and puppies, and gets along great with all of them. He plays well and doesn't mind sharing his toys, his food, or his space. He has never shown any form of aggression at all. He loves everyone that he meets, including small children. He gets along fine with his foster cat brother, and the cat loves him. When outdoor cats see him and run, Beasley does chase them. As long as the cats don't run, he does great. Beasley stays in a very large crate during the day, and seems to enjoy his crate time. -He is leash trained and enjoys long walks. -He is house trained, and will alert his foster mom when he needs to go out. -He enjoys car rides, and is always ready to go. -He loves treats, and is very treat motivated. He will be easy to train using his favorite treats. -He enjoys chasing a ball in the yard with his foster parents and dog siblings. -He also loves to play in the doggie pool on hot summer days. At night, when everyone settles down and he tires of playing, couch time beside his foster mom is his favorite time....how sweet is that?? Being young, Beasley still has a lot of dog energy. Therefore, he would do best in an active home with a family that enjoys outdoor activities. This boy is so emotionally very well adjusted, and easily adapts to any situation.
