Story
Half Pint is searching for a furever home to laze the days away in the sun – in between battling the hose! Half Pint is a 2-year-old Min pin/Chihuahua cute-little-lady cross who just loves water and biting the hose! 🚿 She's got personality to boot, read more below, but seeking a calmer home. She doesn't like a lot of action or unexpected movement so kids or high-energy dogs are not recommended. 🌹This lady loves to stop and smell the roses on walks so you may want to plan ahead! She has decent leash manners, but is in no rush to get anywhere. She is also an expert in standing on her back legs, front feet out, and rolling all over some warm grass. Don't worry about the Okanagan sun, Half Pint will seek it out and happily lay in any sunny patch, no matter how warm, for hours. 🌞 Half Pint does get along with the other doggo in her foster home, but it took time and she does not really want to play. Being the only dog in the home, or being paired with a low-energy dog would fit best. 🐈While the feline member of the home and her get along ok, she certainly shows a prey drive and will chase if another animal runs. Half Pint is fully house trained! She does great in her kennel with a short whine sometimes before she settles down. 🥰While she enjoys head scratches and licking her human's skin, she is still working on her comfort and security with new humans and is nervous of being pet from above. Her confidence is growing now and she will give a paw for a treat. She loves treats!

Story
A very good day to you. My name is PEONY and here is a little info about me:Breed: Italian Greyhound/Terrier/Saluki mixAge: 2.5 yearsGender: femaleWeight: 18 kgHeight: 50 cmHighlight(s): friendly, energetic, good with cats and kids A friendly girl who is happy to meet new people, I am hoping you are looking for a social little sweetheart.  I love all humans.I was born on the streets of Muscat in Oman. I lived in a dangerous and busy area. Apparently a car ran over my siblings, so a local rescuer stepped in to take care of me, my sister and my mum. My mum has now been adopted in Canada and is living in Montreal. My turn now.I have been living at the shelter since my rescue and don't get out much. This is sad for me, as I so enjoy when I get the opportunity to go for a walk. I sniff everything in sight.I get along with all the many dogs where I live.  I am a bit of an athletic tomboy and get along really well with male dogs.  I am not automatically friends with all other dogs though and need to be introduced especially while on leash.   So, if you have another dog, I am perfectly happy with that. But if not, you and I can become the best of buddies. I am cat friendly as well. Though I haven't any experience with kids, I am such a happy-go-lucky girl, I would do fine with dog savvy, respectful kids https://youtu.be/5XdlhTMLmWI. Energy Level: high I get along with:Dogs: yesCats: yesKids: yes Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient assisting me in my transition. Training: a littleLeash skills: a bit. Please be prepared to continue training.House trained: no. Please be prepared to help me learn! Health notes:I have been spayed/neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. My adoption fee is $750.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver. Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/ and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live. Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you. While most dogs find escorting passengers flying directly to Vancouver, some will find flights through Toronto or  Montreal. In that case, additional fees will apply to fly your dog to Vancouver by cargo. Unaccompanied cargo costs within Canada range from $350 - $550 depending on the size of the dog. LALDR will be as transparent as possible with you regarding these costs. The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs. Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website. ##1558595##
