Tails of the Forgotten Paws Inc

Animal rescue in East Dundee, IL

We are a NO KILL (100 percent) sanctuary for troubled dogs/rescue located in Arkansas & Illinois. We also have Chapters in Vermont and Michigan. Our sanctuary facility, intake center, is here in Arkansas. In Illinois we are 100% foster based. Once puppies and dogs are healthy and ready we have scheduled transports twice per month where puppies and dogs can go into their new FOREVER homes or foster homes.
We hold adoption events twice a month in the Elgin area. These are always advertised on our FB page in advance.
We also have a chapter in the Vermont area where we use HEARTS LLC to transport once adopted

Rescue FAQs

Arkansas and Illinois (our two licensed locations). Arkansas is where our facility is, our sanctuary and is our main intake center. We only adopt out here under special circumstances.. We also have Chapters in Vermont and Michigan (Vermont is mostly transport only although some are sent to be fostered there. We do have a board member/director in Vermont) Michigan we do not transport into but we have a lot of adopters adopt from Michigan and pick up their dogs in Illinois. We service all 4 states with intakes and transfers etc. We do adopt out to other areas as well but we do not have board members anywhere else so it is rare as we like to have a board member within each state we work in to handle any issues or returns.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption process is fairly simple as long as apps are filled out correctly and fully and all checks out. We do screen with a background check program and call vet references and personal references. If any of this is left blank we cannot and will not process applications. Meet and greets are set up after an applicant is approved. At that time if they wish to adopt then we have a legally binding contract that must be signed prior to taking pet home.
