Save-A-Mutt Animal rescue in Los Angeles, CA

We are a private dog rescue group that is dedicated to saving the lives of homeless, abused and neglected dogs. The dogs that we rescue come from various situations such as shelters, a large portion of them are rescued as strays from lower socio-economic areas, and owner turn-ins. One of our most important goals is to educate people about the importance of spaying and neutering. We do this in an effort to have people become a part of the solution to ending animal overpopulation and unnecessary euthanasia. 99% of our dogs are in foster-homes. It is important to us that our rescued dogs be in a home-environment for a minimum of 30 days prior to adoption. This helps us to get to know the dog,it's personality, habits, hopefully housebreak it and go through some basic training with the dog. This also helps us to better match the dog to a potential family or individual and have the home that we place them in be their FOREVER home. Any dog that we rescue from a shelter facility first goes into quarintine for 14 days at an animal hospital and will then be transferred to a foster home.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee for most adult dogs is $250. Adoption fee for puppies is $275 since puppies require several sets of vaccines. Our adoption fees include the dog's spay or neuter, vaccines, micro-chipping and deworming if necessary. Our process is as follows:

1. SUBMIT AN APPLICATION(you can obtain one by sending us an email and requesting for one).

2. ONE on ONE INTRODUCTION. If your application is approved we have you come out and meet the dog. We will usually ask you to bring your dog(s)to the meeting. An ideal meeting is one where the adopting family ( kids and dog included) come along.

3. HOME-SAFETY INSPECTION. If all goes well in the meeting and everyone is in agreement that the dog is a good match for the family or individual we proceed with this to ensure that fencing and home is safe for the dog.

4. ADOPTION CONTRACT. An Adoption Contract must be signed and completed upon adoption.
