Additional adoption info

Our name is IndyCLAW. CLAW stands for Creating Life-long Animal Welfare. To fulfill that goal, we have a face to face adoption process. There is an adoption questionnaire that starts the process. One of our volunteers will meet with you. If approved, there is an adoption contract for the specific pet you are adopting. There is also a re-homing fee that is dependent on the type pet you are adopting. When applicable, the pets will be spayed / neutered and current on shots. While many dogs and cats do come across our door, our focus is on domestic rabbits and exotic birds. We will not adopt rabbits to cages or outdoor hutches. We are seeking homes for our rabbits; a room or group of rooms where they will be able to run and get sufficient exercise to live life as it was meant to be. The dogs and cats that we adopt out must also be indoor pets and part of the family. All rabbits, cats, and dogs will be spayed or neutered prior to adoption. Cats and Dogs will be current on shots and microchipped. Exotic birds and other exotic pets will be on a case by case basis. Farm animals, generally chickens and domestic ducks, are the obvious exception to the outdoor policy. We will examine the area to insure that they will be safe from predators and have proper shelter as part of the adoption process.
