White Paws GSD Rescue Dog rescue in Fredonia, WI

My name is Nancy De Moulin I started White Paws about eight years ago in 2004. My primary responsibilites include doing reference checks on all applications, placing the dogs with fosters, coordinating dog events and making the final decision on placing the dog(s) into a "forever Home." Because I cannot refuse a dog, no matter how old and whether healthy or not; therefore, we struggle financially. The result is many of our dogs come from the so called "high kill shelters." None of the thirty or so folks that volunteer to help us receive any compensation, nor do I. Why I do it. I love helping these dogs. Some have met with great success, for example as therapy dogs. Others are companion dogs whom do well in their new homes.

Additional adoption info

We do not charge an application fee. When a request for adoption is submitted we do reference checks, etc. Once the application is accepted we require a home visit, and some of our volunteers will take a potential dog for adoption with them. They prefer the person or family meet the dog before a final contract is signed. Normally we reqire training, and under no circustamces can the dog be sold or used for medical experiments. Fees range from about $150 per dog to 375, depending on the age of the dog. Also possible spay/neuter deposit will be required based on age or medical needs.
