Second Chance Jack Animal Rescue Animal rescue in Golden, CO

As a founder of Second Chance Jack, I have rescued animals my entire life. I was fortunate to have parents that helped me find homes for these dogs and that was over 30 years ago.

Having been in "official rescue", myself and our fosters have rescued over 200. dogs We are a small rescue of co-founders and always need new fosters. We take care of all food and medical for the fosters until they are adopted.

Jack, a Karelian Bear Dog, is the namesake of our rescue. Jack was severely abused mentally and physically, his leg had been shattered and he was dumped on a rural ranch to die where we happened to be visiting. No one could touch him except for me for the first 6 months we had him and now, & years later, he is a favorite to everyone who meets him. We also recently go him a prothstetic for his bad leg to help him get around.

Each founding member of our group has adopted dogs from me and continues to foster.

We rescue dogs in need, especially those in danger of being euthanized or are being neglected. We also have much success with those that need to be rehabilitated physically, mentally and /or behaviorally. We are an all breed rescue, but specialize in herding breeds that are so highly misunderstood in the shelters and would otherwise be euthanized. We also are very successful in re-homing deaf and vision impaired dogs.

These Second Chance pets have made people some of the best pets they have EVER had.

Thank you for wanting to give one of our special dogs the second chance they now deserve.
