Halfway Home Rescue Inc

Animal rescue in Lexington, KY

Halfway Home Rescue was founded in 2012. We strive to find the best forever placement, so all our adoptions require application approval, a meet and greet, adoption fee, a contract and dogs require home checks. While in our care, the animals at HHR are examined by a veterinarian and given socialization and proper medical attention. HHR’s few members and fosters are unpaid volunteers, our source of funding is based 100% on donations from the public of funds and supplies - donations are tax deductible.

We try and find foster homes for our rescues; we encourage you to contact us if you are interested in fostering for us or making a lifelong commitment as an adopter. While our primary focus has been on cats because of the tremendous overpopulation problem in this area , We help all kinds of animals when fosters and donations permit.

We feel very strongly about educating the public to the companion animal overpopulation issue, we are involved in local TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) and we hope to provide solutions so that the large amount of adoptable animals killed in shelters each year around the country can be stopped. We have a Spay to Save Program in place to assist community members who may otherwise not be able to afford it , Spay and Neuter their pets.
