My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Shadow is a 42lb. sheltie/cocker spaniel/border collie mix. She is quite a young 9 years of age and originally came to us at 1 yr old for consideration in our Hearing Dog Program. Shadow was adopted out as a companion pet to a lovely woman who is now unable to care for her due to her own declining health. Shadow returned to us the first week of February 2020.

Shadow is in remarkable health and enjoys romping with the other dogs, going for walks in the neighborhood and being with her person. She is very good with other animals although she lived as an only dog for many years. We would love for her to have her one and only person that will shower her with affection and include her in daily activities. This would make this girl shine!

While we found Shadow timid is a young dog, she seems much more confident with her maturity. She may still need to warm up to some new situations but she is happiest to be included in any fun!

Shadow has great house manners and is used to all the comforts of home. She had her own yard to go out for bathroom relief and we would prefer to give this to her again. She will alert bark to things that are not familiar or if startled. She does respond to a verbal interruption, however, and indoors she is quite quiet and mellow.
