Meet Maui! He is an approximately 4 year old, 15 pound shiba inu. He came to us in ROUGH shape and was severely neglected and is now all healed up thanks to his amazing foster and ready for his forever home! Maui would love to be an only dog where he can be spoiled, continue learning how to be loved, and not have to share his toys or beds - things he had never had before and has since decided are the greatest things in life! He’s dog-friendly but has little manners in the way of personal space or sharing. He definitely would enjoy a yard where he can cut loose and play but walks and adventures to tire him out and get his exercise would be ok too! Maui will require a basic obedience course since he’s never learned commands like sit, stay, come, off, or place. All signs point to a life lived in a cage other than when it was time to breed. His back leg bones bend the opposite direction they should - indicative that the cage was in fact too small for him to stand in or move comfortably. This doesn’t affect his physical capabilities other than being greatly helped with daily joint supplements and he should stay a healthy weight, not get fat as he ages. We are confident his cage was also sprayed out with a hose while he was in it or something similar with no regards to his feelings which lead to a healthy fear of water, particularly from a hose.
Maui is neutered, up to date on vaccines, and microchipped. Adoption donation is $300.
