Meet Lady, a delightful adult dog who has a heart full of love and a spirit brimming with playfulness. She`s an 76-pound ball of energy, always ready for a game or an adventure. She likes agility, running, tugging, toys, walks (she`ll insist on leading), water, chase, and wrestling. Yet, she`s also smart, obedient, and house trained. She knows the sit, stay, no, off, and shake commands. She`s incredibly affectionate, with a knack for cuddling that can turn any bad day around. Lady is a social butterfly, getting along well with children and making friends easily but she might be a little shy at first. Lady has a picky side when it comes to other dogs so you`ll need to bring yours to meet her. We were given conflicting information about her canine interactions. She loves to chew and dig, so prepare for some fun-filled afternoons in the yard. Her independent streak ensures she`s comfortable on her own, but she always appreciates a good company and wants her humans close by. Lady`s combination of friendliness, intelligence, and charm make her a perfect addition to any home. Pet Adoption Fees
CAP adoption fees include a variety of services - age-appropriate vaccinations, canine heartworm, and feline leukemia tests, spaying/neutering, deworming treatment, microchipping to name a few - the total value of which exceeds $450. These minimal adoption fees cover only part of each animal's stay at our shelter - please help us keep adoption fees low while maintaining the high quality of care for the animals in our charge by donating and/or volunteering.

CAP is proud to announce that through life-saving adoption and transfer programs and a lot of hard work, we have maintained a placement rate of over 93% for all homeless pets surrendered to our shelter in 2021. In 2021, CAP provided care for 10,260 animals; this includes animals surrendered by the public and transferred in from animal control agencies and rescue groups, animals already in the shelter and foster care program, feral cats trapped/neutered/returned and animals receiving vaccinations and other treatments in our low-cost vaccination clinic, The Cornelius Clinic.
