My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

🍮 Meet Pudding (aka Amarillo)! 🍮

Hello, I'm Pudding, though you might find me as Amarillo on the website. My journey has been a tough one, but I'm still wagging my tail, hoping to find a heart as sweet as my name to call home.

A Glimpse into My Past: My life's path had sharp turns—from being on the euthanasia list while pregnant and heartworm positive at a high-kill shelter to being a loving mom. I thrived as a mother, earning the nickname "happy hippo" once my puppies were weaned. But life threw another curveball when I was attacked by an aggressive dog, shifting my sunny disposition to one filled with anxiety and fear towards other dogs.

My Needs Now: Today, I am looking for a special, serene home—ideally with no other pets or children—where I can relax and feel secure. I long for an adult-only home that understands my history and my needs:

🏠 Adult-Only Home Preferred: I thrive in a calm and predictable environment.
🚷 Dog Selective & Not Good with Cats: My past experiences have made me wary of other animals.
🌳 Yard Required: A secure, fenced yard where I can enjoy the outdoors safely.
🛋️ Low Energy/Activity Level: I prefer quiet days and gentle evenings.
🏡 Housetrained: No worries here, I know the ropes!
🧸 Cautious Yet Affectionate: I may be a bit reserved at first, but I’m all about snuggles once I feel safe.
📏 Short and Stout, a Lap Pet at Heart: I might just be the world's best weighted blanket!
Why I'm Worth It: Despite the bumps in my road, I’m the sweetest and smartest girl you’ll meet. I might waddle, but I’ll waddle right into your heart with each step.

Ready to Meet Me? If you feel your home is the haven I need, please fill out a form to meet me, Pudding (listed as Amarillo on the site). Let's find out if we’re the perfect match to fill our days with gentle love and quiet companionship.
