My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ghost: A Survivor Seeking Love
Ghost is a gentle 5-year-old soul who has overcome unimaginable hardship. Rescued from a devastating cruelty and hoarding case, he finally found safety at a local shelter. Despite all he's been through, Ghost has remained incredibly loving and kind, capturing the hearts of everyone who meets him. But living in a shelter isn’t the life Ghost deserves—he longs for a peaceful home where he can heal, trust, and truly belong.

Ghost’s Simple Pleasures

Even after everything, Ghost’s spirit shines through his favorite things:

  • Car Rides: A peaceful drive brings him joy and makes him the perfect companion for adventures.
  • Cheese and Peanut Butter: These treats are pure magic to him, and he’ll look at you with such gratitude for sharing them.
  • Neck Scratches: Ghost leans into you with such trust when you scratch his neck, savoring every moment of connection.
  • Toys and Fresh Air: Whether it’s quietly playing with his toys or lounging outside, Ghost cherishes the little things.
  • Cuddling Up: He’s an expert in finding cozy spots to curl up and feel safe.

His Challenges

After all he’s endured, Ghost has a few worries:

  • Thunderstorms: Loud noises make him anxious; he just needs someone to sit with him and remind him he’s safe.
  • Busy, Overwhelming Environments: Crowds and chaos make Ghost uneasy—he thrives in calm and predictable surroundings.

Ghost’s Perfect Home

Ghost dreams of a quiet home with someone who understands his gentle heart and need for patience. He’s content with short walks but will happily join you for leisurely hikes if the mood strikes. While he’s still learning to trust fully, his loyalty and love are unmatched once you earn his heart.

Ghost is fine with other dogs but prefers a calm companion or to be your one-and-only. He just needs someone willing to show him the world isn’t such a scary place anymore.

Can You Be Ghost’s Angel?

Ghost’s resilience is inspiring, but he can’t do this alone. He needs someone to show him what unconditional love and stability feel like. Whether you can offer a foster home or a forever family, you’ll change Ghost’s life forever—and he’ll change yours right back.

More about this rescue

Adopt a Homeless Animal Rescue (AAHA) is a nonprofit dedicated to rescuing and assisting animals in crisis. We actively combat animal cruelty in any form.

We have a particular commitment to pit bulls and aim to raise awareness about the breed, help those in need, and educate the public:
•We seek to promote this lovely yet unfairly maligned breed as the sweet, intelligent, affectionate, and people-oriented dogs they are.
•We assume stewardship over their well-being and strive to make this world a better place for them.
•We serve as a resource and/or liaison for shelters, individuals, and the community at large, advocating for any animal in harm's way.
•We also function in an advisory role for private citizens who seek assistance and guidance in better caring for their pets.

We are a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

Please help us help the animals!
