Oakley
At just 36# and maybe a year old, having been found as a stray near Sebring, it’s incredible how practically perfect Oakley is!
She’s potty trained, crate trained, dog-friendly (she’s got some preferences on friends we will mention in a second), cat tolerant (she would play with them but she’s been told hard pass by her foster kitties), kid-friendly and EXTREMELY loving.
Oakley could be an only dog in an attention-rich family OR she could be a companion animal to a pup that’s either indifferent to play or plays similarly to Oakley. Which is to say, she likes to run together and will stand on her back feet to box a bit but the ankle-biting, WWE style of bully breeds or rambunctious pups is NOT her style at all.
Oakley CRAVES touch and will bat at you to hold her hand or pet her over and over. She smiles all the time and will follow you EVERYWHERE. Her delightful spirit is infectious and it’s impossible not to smile and be happy right along with her. She’s THAT precious.
In a forever home, Oakley would certainly prefer to have a fenced yard to explore and enjoy. Existing doggie friends won’t include small, fuzzy ones - if your current dog resembles a stuffed animal toy, that’s a no - but dogs her size or bigger with more closely cropped hair she doesn’t want to pull on would work. She was a big fan of a fellow-Carolina Dog friend! Again, it will be important for her happiness that pup-friends aren’t wild and crazy and instead are either down to simply coexist or play gently.
Oakley is spayed, chipped, fully vaccinated and as advertised: ready to be the next “best thing we ever did” addition to someone’s home.
