Meet Princessa, a sweet 3-year-old pup with a heart full of love and a past that makes her all the more special. Originally a stray momma from the streets of Memphis, TN, Princessa has come a long way from her tough beginnings. Now, she's living the good life in New England with her amazing foster family, where she’s learning to thrive and showing just how wonderful she can be.
Princessa is well on her way to being the perfect companion. She’s crate trained and housebroken, making her a great addition to any home. She knows some basic commands like Sit, Down, Here, Touch, and Crate. She's working on mastering Place and Stay, and while she’s eager to greet new people with excitement (maybe a little too much—she’s working on not jumping!), her love for humans knows no bounds.
As a former stray, Princessa can be a bit reactive on the leash when encountering other dogs, mostly due to her over-the-top excitement. But don't worry—she's actively working on improving that behavior with her foster family’s help.
Princessa would do best as the only pet in the home, as she loves all the attention she can get! She’s fantastic with people of all ages and is sure to bring joy and loyalty to a loving family. If you're looking for a dog who's not only beautiful inside and out but also eager to learn and grow, Princessa might just be the princess you've been waiting for.

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
