Meet Ulani, a sweet and resilient girl who’s ready to find her forever home where she can shine as your one and only companion!
Ulani loves spending time outdoors, running, and playing, and she adores the two kids in her foster home (ages 9 and 13). Whether it’s chewing on bones, playing with toys, or snuggling up for some love, Ulani knows how to make every moment special. She’s equally content lounging on a comfy dog bed or by your side.
After spending her early life chained outside in harsh conditions and without adequate food, Ulani has blossomed into a healthy, happy, and affectionate dog. She’s now housetrained, has free reign of her foster home during the day, and willingly goes into her crate when needed.
While Ulani has many wonderful qualities, she doesn’t do well with other dogs or cats, so she’s looking for a home where she can be the center of attention. She’s still learning leash manners—her excitement to explore makes her pull—but with patience and guidance, she’ll continue to improve.
Ulani does experience anxiety during thunderstorms and benefits from extra care during bad weather. Her foster family provides her with a cozy, covered kennel tucked into a closet to help her feel secure, and she occasionally takes Trazodone to stay calm during storms.
Ulani is ready for a loving, patient home where she can thrive as your loyal companion. If you’re looking for a devoted and affectionate dog, Ulani may be the perfect match for you!

More about this rescue
PAWS is comprised of a small group of volunteers from New England and Tennessee trying to reduce the euthanization rate (previously 90%) at the Tipton County Animal Control shelter in Brighton, Tennessee. This shelter is forced to euthanize thousands of animals each year due to irresponsible pet owners that do not spay/ neuter their dogs in the area. Millions of dogs in America are euthanized each year due to lack of space and lack of funding to try and find them better homes.
Our mission is to save as many animals as possible, removing them from the shelter, having their veterinary needs met prior to traveling and then finding them loving homes throughout New England. We do this only with the assistance of many people volunteering their time by going to the shelter, transporting the dogs to the vet, fostering dogs who need special care, and arranging for their new and happy homes in this area. Most importantly, we cannot do any of this without those people willing to open their homes and hearts to these lovely creatures.
