My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Currently one of our longest stay cats at over 6 months, Thyme is a mystery to us -- we cannot figure out a SINGLE reason she is passed over again and again. Thyme is:
-tiny
-adorable multi-colored toe beans
-great with humans of all ages, most other cats, and dogs
-has a CUTE face with a CUTE little nose and a super awesome splashed tabby pattern on her back
-self-appointed member of the kitty welcome committee
-has a very unique personality

Her favorite hobbies include:

a) playing playing playing. When Thyme is inside her kennel watching other cats play, it is not unusual for her to hunker down and start revving her motor, literally running in place as she watches the other cats chase a toy and think about how she could be doing it better.

b) scratchies and rollies. When Thyme gets to come out of her kennel, she heads to two locations first: the tiny platform of a cat tree so she can roll around on top of it, and the black chair that stays in the cat room, proudly decorated with her personal embellishments.

c) water cat???!! Thyme is OBSESSED with water. She drinks water one drop at a time from her paw pad, she LOVES sitting in the sink and drinking straight from the tap, and when kennel techs or volunteers refill cat water bowls, she is right behind them as quality control, sniff-vestigating every single place water may have been poured (and trying to test it out for herself).

d) toothy cuddles. Thyme has a peculiar habit of keeping her mouth open when she rubs her head or scent marks whoever is giving her some cuddles. This lets her finish each purposeful rub with a little polishing of her teeth -- never a bite, barely a nibble, sometimes just a little tooth-brushing.

Thyme was an owner surrender from a hoarding-type situation. She and 6 other cats were brought into FFAA; they had never been handled by another human other than their owner. She was the first of her group to truly warm up to staff and potential adopters and has worked hard every day to come up with funny, new things to define her hilarious and loving personality.
