My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Penelope, an adorable 3-month-old Beagle mix who currently weighs 14 pounds. This little bundle of joy is still learning the ropes of housetraining but excels in her crate. Penelope's favorite pastime is playing with the other dogs in her foster home, and she has a particular fondness for toys and bones.

Penelope is a social butterfly who adores everyone she meets, especially kids. She's had plenty of positive interactions with toddlers and older children, making her a great fit for families. While she does have a habit of jumping up, this hasn't been an issue with the kids she's been around and can be easily managed with a bit of training.

Described as friendly, outgoing, confident, happy, and playful, Penelope's foster mom has nothing but praise for her. She says, "Penelope is the sweetest girl. A typical happy, playful puppy, this girl is a bouncing ball of energy. She wants to run, jump, and wrestle for as many hours of the day as possible. Penelope also loves to be with her family. It may take a while to tire her out but once she is, she looks forward to snuggles with her people. True to her hound roots, Penelope loves to explore and follow her nose so while a fenced yard is not required, it is highly recommended. This small girl has a very big voice so shared walls are not an option. If there weren't rules on how many dogs you can have, her foster family wouldn't let her go!"

Penelope is looking for a forever home where she can continue to thrive and share her endless love and energy. If you're ready for a playful, affectionate, and energetic companion, Penelope might just be the perfect addition to your family. Her minimum adoption fee is $350 plus a $15 fee, if 4 months or older, for rabies registration for McLean County residents.

She has been spayed, microchipped, vaccinated, heartworm checked, dewormed, and is on flea and heartworm preventatives.
