Meet Louie! This almost 2 year old ( DOB 7/18/2022) is an English Pointer. His previous owner passed away and there was no one to care for him and his siblings. Being a hunting dog, he has spent his time outside and will need a patient home to break him out of his shell as he is a bit shy. He has a good temperament and we have noticed no aggressive issues. He would do best at first with a patient, quiet home where he has room to run and explore in a fenced yard. He is doing great with leash walking now and most dogs that have spent a lot of time outside are no problem to house train. He is actually a bit timid with other dogs so another dog in the home should be fine. Louie has been neutered, up to date on vaccines, dewormed, NS microchipped. We are a private run facility supported by public donations. The first step to adopt is to submit an application on richardsonrescue.org. We review them everyday, except for Sunday (Great customer service is our goal). Once your application is approved, you may then call for an appointment.

VISITS ARE BY APPOINTMENT ONLY WITH AN APPROVED APPLICATION.

More about this rescue

Nestled in twelve acres of country and woods is a place for animals that are hardest to help, BIGGER dogs, abused pets and puppy mill dogs. They need more time, more space and more love than many full rescues can provide. Their adoptions sometimes take months, but they get the room and attention that they need to get back on all four feet. The problem.... not many people are willing to give them a chance. We also offer low cost spay and neutering when funding allows.
