Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Gemma is an adorable 10-year old female Terrier/Miniature Pinscher mix who was brought to the HSOV during the overnight/early morning hours on June 14, 2024 along with six other dogs who had shared her home. We learned later in the day that their owner was experiencing health issues and could no longer take care of them.
Since we did not know their given names, the names of several Saints were chosen for those precious dogs (Anthony, Christopher, Clare, Elizabeth, Gemma, Helena, and Joan.
Gemma has a black short smooth coat, tan shading on her short legs, a long tail, and a beautiful face with tan eyebrows, a black button nose, silver shading on her slender muzzle, and large floppy ears.
This little lady has a sweet disposition and loves attention. Gemma has been sharing a large open enclosure with her female companions who shared her home, and they all get along well with each other.
Gemma is being listed as a 'Special Needs Dog' since she is blind in her right eye and may have limited vision in her left eye.
Gemma weighs 21 lbs and is 'pleasingly plump' when you see her in person (smile).
The photos of Gemma with the purple backdrop were taken late in the afternoon on June 14th when HSOV Volunteer Tracy Lynn Moore provided carry-out service for Gemma to our make-shift 'studio'. The photos of Gemma snuggled in her plush bed were taken on July 4th.
Gemma was examined by a veterinarian on July 2, 2024 who determined that she had previously been spayed. She was given rabies vaccine that day.
Gemma is ready to find a home of her very own with someone special to snuggle up with and to be loved again.
