Hazel and Belle are two of the loveliest, sweetest sisters. If you are wanting a set of housebroken, leash trained, car-ride-loving gentle adult girls, here is your sign! They have been in a very busy, rambunctious foster home with teenage boys and four other dogs of various sizes and ages and they have done well with everyone. They love going on walks and show total joy when they see the harnesses coming out. They have been well trained on their leashes- no pulling or running, and they are totally unreactive to other dogs or people as we walk. They are just there to get some sniffs and enjoy the morning. They know how to use the doggy door and have not had a single accident in the house since they have been here. They do get a little sad when we all leave the house and will first howl and bark by the door, but every day it gets better as they learn our routine and to trust that we are coming back. They will climb up on our laps while we watch tv and prefer to snuggle up by our feet in bed but can learn to sleep in a dog bed if desired. They do bark loudly at the doorbell or other dogs bark, but they calm down very quickly and will come when called. They both enjoy playing with toys, but Bella will dig through the stuffed toys to find the perfect squeaker and she will pull out all the toys until she finds just the right one. Hazel is more of a cuddle bug and wants to be by your side. When they ride in the car, they lay down together and are totally quiet for the ride. They would love to go to an owner who can take them on adventures, even just short walks around the neighborhood would make them happy and they do so well on their leash, they are wonderful companions. They are fine around other dogs, they mainly just co-exist, but they really love each other and anyone who will give them lots of snuggles. They would be great first dogs, since they are already so well trained. Check out this lovely pair of easy-going sisters today!

More about this rescue

Arizona Small Dog Rescue is a non profit registered 501(c)3 no kill rescue shelter. We are a group of volunteers who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused small dogs. We save most of our animals from kill shelters around the valley, but also accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders. Owner surrender fee’s vary depending on space and availability. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, medically examine, microchip, and evaluate and/or socialize all dogs that come into our rescue before placing up for adoption to pre-screened homes. We rescue many dogs every week and always have a wide variety of personalities and breeds available who would be a perfect fit for any family and any home.
