Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Peaks is a handsome, 9.5-year-old cat who has a bright white coat with orange patches. He is a very loving kitty who enjoys the company of his roommates as well as our staff and volunteers. At first, he may appear to be hiding from you when you try to pet him, but he will soon come out into the room to make sure you see him. Peaks loves to cuddle up on people's laps, and he can often be found sleeping on a bench with his roommates. He also has the cutest silent meow!
When Peaks first came to HART, he had a horrible eye infection that unfortunately caused severe damage to his left eye and it had to be surgically removed. He has since recovered and has adapted well to only having one eye, and his remaining eye is being treated with an antiviral medication. Peaks also has a history of cystitis and inappropriate urination, and he is on wet food only diet as well as medication to help manage these conditions. Peaks has continued to urinate on the walls at the shelter at times, and our Medical Team believes this may actually be a learned behavior at this point.
Since Peaks has some health issues, his adopter will need to have an established relationship with a veterinarian and the ability to accommodate his health needs. Our Medical Manager will review his specific needs with you prior to adoption, and will also confer with your veterinarian to review Peak’s case with them. We would love nothing more than for this sweet guy to have a second chance at happiness in a loving home, and our Adoption Team is committed to helping make that happen. Be sure to meet Peaks in Room 4.
