Hi there! My name is Jax, and I'm a charming 35ish pound, 10-month-old pup with a sleek black coat. My mom is a yellow lab, and my dad is a black pit bull, so I've got the best of both worlds! I was born around March 25th, and I'm already neutered and vaccinated, so I'm all set to join my forever family.
I'm still working on my house training, but I'm getting better every day. I'm leash trained, although I do tend to pull a bit, and I'm crate trained too, though I might bark sometimes. I'm great with children and other dogs, as long as we have a proper introduction. I do get along with cats, but I have a tendency to chase them, so a home without cats would be best. I've also had a bit of a run-in with a chicken, so it's probably a good idea to avoid other small animals. I do have parrots in my current home. I haven’t done anything to them but my foster family doesn't fully trust me around them. I do have a bit of a prey drive, so a home without cats or other small animals would be ideal.
I'm a really sweet dog who listens well and has pretty good recall. I'd thrive in a home with playmates and people who are going to interact and play with me. I need to be a part of the family and have lots of interaction. I do bark at other dogs at the dog park because I'm a bit fearful, but I get along well with the other dogs in my foster home.
I'm currently located in Suffolk, VA, but I can be transported to other states. Just a heads up, you must be 21 or older to apply. I can't wait to find my forever home and become a beloved member of your family!
