My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there! I`m Elmer, and I`m looking for my forever home. I’m a super friendly guy who gets along with everyone—people, kids, and other dogs. My favorite thing to do is hang out with my foster parents 12-year-old. We play a lot, and I’m always up for some fun with toys or a good game of fetch with a ball!
I’ve already picked up some basic commands, like sit. I’m also pretty good at waiting patiently for my food—my humans say I’m very polite when it’s time to eat. I’m currently working on my leash manners, but I’m eager to learn and do my best.

The process is quite simple! Please stop by and see for yourself. All animals are spayed/neutered, dewormed, vaccinated, and microchipped prior to going home.

More about this shelter

We are a non-profit open intake shelter that serves all of East Baton Rouge parish. We strive to improve the lives of abandoned, unwanted and abused animals in our parish. We house approximately 400 animals at any given time. We take in 20-30 new animals a day. We are always in need of fosters both short and long term, donations, and volunteers.
