We must have an application to move forward.
In Foster in Olympia, WA
ADDY is about 2 1/2 yrs old and might be a lab mix!!! Her tail was docked. She was originally in ACS in April 2023...then adopted out. She came back in May of 2024. We do not know the circumstances why she returned but her leg injury was not doing well. Initially in 2023 she had had an injury to her left front leg. It was possibly a broken leg that healed wrong without proper care. She was able to use it but as she grew and got bigger and heavier, it gave her problems. She is a true success story. Our rescue put her through a specialized orthopedic surgery to fix the badly healed leg. After several trips to Austin from the rescue in South San Antonio, TX to the specialist and 4 mos of rehab, many thousands in costs, she is ready to go.
Addy has lived in our house and been with ALL of our dogs and cats. She is a lot of dog (just meaning she is not tiny!) but she super loving, very calm, sweet, happy, and quite a beggar with a great big smile! She loves playing with the other dogs, but we keep that to a minimum for another couple of months. She is leash trained, house trained, crate trained (also known as "your house") and a true lover. Addy has been around other animals such as ponies, goats, and sheep and she has absolutely no interest in them. She is still taking it easy with the leg for the next 3 mos... increasing activity over this time. Future exercise should not include very extensive running and jumping (like chasing a Frisbee), jogging for miles, or running along a rocky river shore. She will be fine with long walks, easy playing, playing with other dogs.
The adopter will receive ALL of the paperwork supporting her surgery and treatment along with the typical medical vaccinations, etc.. .
