Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Meet 4 y/o Doctor, he’s a chill boy, a cuddler, a gentle beagle and lightweight at just under 24 pounds. He’s good with kids and food motivated as are all beagles, but never aggressive.
Doc is not a barker, and you wouldn’t hear him unless there’s a squirrel sighting or he smells one on the trail. When he does use his voice, it is a load bay that makes you fear for his life when you first hear it!! Amazing that this sound can come out of his little body!
He loves to play fetch and is good about bringing back the ball only to run after it again and again. This boy likes to go on walks and spend time outdoors but would rather be inside relaxing on his bed. When invited, he is eager to join you on the sofa for cuddles. He has had no issues sleeping in a crate at bedtime.
This sweet boy is not destructive although he does like to remove the squeakers from some of his toys. He is good about going to the door when he needs to go out for potty and alerts you when he wants back in.
He plays well with his foster beagles but would be fine if he were the only dog. He sometimes entertains himself with tossing toys in the air when playing by himself. Tug-of-war followed by a high-speed chase is a favorite game with his foster buddies.
Doc tested positive for heart worms and is being treated with the slow kill method. He will come with 9 months of Advantage Multi. He is recovered from a bad skin infection. He still has a small patch on his neck where the hair is growing back in! He tolerates his medicated baths well! Please consider giving this sweet boy the forever home he needs. You’ll be rewarded with companionship and his unconditional love.

Go meet their pets
Check our website at www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org for info. We typically have meet & greet events on the second Sunday of each month, from noon to 3:00 p.m. and will always bring several of the rescued beagles to that event, so look up the location of the month on our website, and come meet some adorable beagles! We also periodically hold special activities, and occasionally attend Houston-area adoption events which will be listed on our "events" section of our website. Our quarterly newsletter is published on our website at www.HoustonBeagleRescue.org
