Hi, I’m Penny! I’m a sweet, timid one-year-old tabby with deep golden eyes that look at you with both curiosity and caution. I’ve been through a lot, but I’m making big strides in learning to trust again. I’m not your typical older kitten—I’m a bit different. I’ve had my fair share of challenges, but I’m slowly blossoming into the special girl I was always meant to be.
Here’s my story: I was rescued after escaping from a cage that had a note and all my supplies left with me. I know, kind of strange, right? But from that moment on, things started to change. I was brought to my foster family, and after just three days of decompressing, a new Penny emerged. I’m still a bit shy, but I’m coming out of my shell more and more every day.
I may not be spayed yet, but I’m fully litter trained and healthy! I eat and drink enough, and I’m a lean little lady. I can be a little agitated by other cats (I prefer to take things slow with them), but lately, I’ve gotten a bit more curious about the other kitties in the house. I’m still figuring out how to interact with them, but I’m definitely warming up.
When it comes to people, I’m the one who calls the shots. I need to decide when I’m ready to trust, and once I do, I’ll let you know. But don’t worry—I’m not a threat, just a girl who needs a bit of time and space to feel comfortable. If you’re patient with me, I’ll shower you with affection, like kisses, purrs, and plenty of cuddle time. I especially love spending time with my foster sister; I sleep next to her every night, and I love being close to her.
If you’re looking for a sweet, evolving girl who’s on her way to becoming an affectionate lap kitty, I might be the perfect fit for you. I’ve got a lot of love to give, and I’m excited to share my journey with a family who’s ready to give me the time and patience I need to thrive.
Stay tuned for videos of me—I'm getting braver every day! Feel free to reach out to Ruff Start Rescue if you have any questions about me, and maybe I’ll be the next chapter in your story.
