My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hugh is a big older gentleman with a heart of gold. On a recent break from the shelter with a volunteer, he was well behaved in the car, calmly looking out the window. He had good manners walking around inside Pet Supplies Plus and got a thorough scrubbing at the self serve bath with no issues. Hugh then had a nice long walk around Elizabeth neighborhood, walking well with his front clipped leash and harness. He was fine returning to the shelter, enjoying his kong in his kennel. He has been a great sport about being in the shelter with very little break since early November when he came in as a stray. Hugh`s fast facts:
- likely house-trained (kennel always pristine and potties immediately outside)
- enjoys being petted and loved on
- seems to love all people but is very independent (not needy)
- hops in and out of the car and is well behaved for the ride
- loves chewing kongs and nylabones and other hard chews
- very tolerant of baths and being handled all over
- seems interested in dogs but would probably be best in a dog free home while he decompresses
- seems a little too interested in cats
- very quiet - have never heard a bark
- very go with the flow kinda guy; a great companion!
