Meet Heidi, a sweet, sassy, smart little lady who just wants to be loved. If you’re looking for a loyal companion, champion snuggler and first-class sunbather, look no further. Heidi may take a minute to warm up, but it’s just a minute. After that you’ll consistently be greeted with a wagging tail and leaps of excitement. Heidi spends her days by your side, nested in her bed or sunbathing on the patio. She enjoys walks and requires only the occasional reminder of her manners. She is potty trained and not food motivated – she never begs. Heidi will sleep snuggled next to you or in her kennel. She is super smart and responds quickly to commands.

While Heidi is an absolute joy she is also a typical chihuahua. She greets strangers loudly but not aggressively. When she meets other dogs on her walks she likes to let them know she’s there. She will likely do best in a household without cats. Heidi will be perfect with a family that understands her feisty personality and is willing to give her the love and patience she deserves to be the best version of herself.

More about this rescue

Arizona Small Dog Rescue is a non profit registered 501(c)3 no kill rescue shelter. We are a group of volunteers who have dedicated our lives to rescuing and saving homeless, unwanted, abandoned, neglected, and abused small dogs. We save most of our animals from kill shelters around the valley, but also accept owner surrenders and stray surrenders. Owner surrender fee’s vary depending on space and availability. We spay/neuter, vaccinate, medically examine, microchip, and evaluate and/or socialize all dogs that come into our rescue before placing up for adoption to pre-screened homes. We rescue many dogs every week and always have a wide variety of personalities and breeds available who would be a perfect fit for any family and any home.
