My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiiii! I'm Corn Cob. I know- it's a unique name, but it somehow suits me. I've been here since before Thanksgiving and am ready for a home. Being in this kennel really stresses me out but I am bright, happy, and bubbly once you get me outside. I'm actually a very happy boy. I love to play fetch and I know how to sit. I would love to demonstrate for you!

Our animals are available at our facility on a first come first served basis. While very rare, occasional exceptions are made for livestock and animals receiving significant inquiry due to specific breed demands.

More about this shelter

Norman Animal Welfare is a municipal shelter operated and funded by the City of Norman, Oklahoma. In addition to providing a safe environment for our adoptable animals we also are responsible for the enforcement of all animal related laws within the City of Norman and holding all stray animals that are located. In addition to these main roles, we also provide public microchipping, city pet licensing, and other educational services to our community.
We average approximately 3,400 animals in and out of our facility each year. We have an amazing facility that fully opened in 2016. We operate daily with a very limited staff supported by several amazing volunteers. We operate an active foster program and are always seeking to work with those in our community interested in assisting us in our mission.
