My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

What my friends at ACC say about me:

I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!

I am a cat that is in need of a lap! I can't wait to be your new lap cat.

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I love getting pets and - you guessed it - snuggles!

My purr motor is always running!

My foster writes: River is a chatty, chonky girl with so much love to give! She
enjoys being around her people, her way of displaying affection
is by headbutting your hand, rolling around and exposing her
tummy, or turning on her purr engine! One cute thing about her
is that she sticks her tongue out a lot which makes her look like
a big derpy baby. River would love to learn more about you and
find her forever home.

A volunteer writes: River celebrates watching all of her friends get new families because she knows she'll get one too. As her neighbors go home one by one, River remains just as cheerful, hopeful, and welcoming as she was when she came to us in August. She's not one to dwell on could've beens, but I kind of am so it tears at my heart quite a bit watching her patiently wait for her chance to be loved. I love River and I love how she rearranges her blankets so that they're in one big pile and then curls herself up in a perfectly tucked little ball. Bouncing up like a kitten as soon as the door opens, River will come forward and almost apologize for being late, for almost having missed the chance for a visit because this is what brightens her day the most. River loves to peer out the condo door almost as much as she loves cuddles. And she is positively the cutest as she rolls around on her blankets for her toys. River's a senior and has some of the wear and tear that comes with age, but she has so much love is so hopeful you'll take a chance on her.

My other foster writes: River is a chill old lady that loves to explore, meow, eat, sleep, and occasionally play with a feather toy. She loves anyone that talks to her; sweet words will have her roll over affectionately and start purring and kneading. In return, she'll call out to you with a friendly chirp whenever you walk by. She's also never met a brush she doesn't like.
Easy-going and affectionate, she is more likely curled up in a comfy spot instead of zooming around. When she's not sleeping, she's exploring her territory, sniffing and headbutting affectionately on the things she encounters. She enjoys being around people, whether she's observing them from afar, or they're giving her affection and compliments. And once she's had enough attention, she'll walk away and lay down nearby. She has great litterbox manners and keeps up with her personal routine, keeping her soft fur impeccably groomed. If you'd like a chill little friend to keep you company during the cold winter and offer some nice conversation about her fur routine, River is your girl.
