My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Troy von Trebbin is a delightful, 6-month-old Shepherd mix. Troy is a playful, active boy with a nose for adventure and the most endearing, attentive eyes. A fun-loving, athletic, medium-sized pup, he can’t wait to accompany you on your next walk through the neighborhood or jog down the beach. Whether going for a hike or lounging on the sofa, Troy is ready for anything. He’s house-trained, crate-trained and well-behaved at home. Treat-motivated and eager to please, he responds well to training commands, including sit, down and paw. His friendly personality shines in playgroups, where he’s always happy to meet the other dogs, and he’s just as enthusiastic about meeting new people. (But no cats please.) A handsome, curious puppy who loves to explore, Troy can’t wait to come home and be your new best friend.

Surrendered to us after owner abandoned him.

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Troy von Trebbin YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.

Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
