My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Dax Joy, the life of the party and your soon-to-be best buddy! This fun-loving guy is bursting with energy and enthusiasm, always ready to play and bring a smile to your face. After he’s had his fill of zoomies and adventures, Dax transforms into the ultimate cuddlebug, eager to snuggle up and relax by your side. He’s a social butterfly with his doggie roommates and has shown promising interactions with cats at our adoption center. However, he’d thrive with a dog-savvy feline friend and a slow, thoughtful introduction. Dax is a rockstar when it comes to using his doggie door, making him a breeze to care for. He’s working on perfecting his leash skills and absolutely loves going for walks. Sweet, affectionate, and full of joy, Dax Joy is ready to bring happiness and laughter to a forever family. Could that be yours?

More about this rescue

A New Leash on Life has a goal of saving all the adoptable pets about to die in the municipal shelters of Alabama until we become a NO KILL state. We rescue, provide veterinary care, provide a foster home or adoption center spot, and find adopters who are good matches for homeless dogs and cats...AND horses, pigs, rabbits, and any other animal who needs our help. All animals are fully vetted, including spay/neuter, microchip, vaccines, testing (HW for dogs, FIV/Felv for cats), and whatever else they need before adoption.
