My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi, I`m Amigo! I was found as a stray & was never reclaimed. When people first see me, they think I`m more on the calm side but I am quite energetic. I love to go for walks and don`t mind other dogs as long as they are playful like me! I also don`t mind getting brushed and love getting attention. I do still have some puppy tendencies so I`m looking for a home that doesn`t mind my energy and working on my manners. Due to this, I`d be best in a home with kids that are 12 yrs of age or older. Think I`d be a good fit? Reach out to the shelter or stop by during their open hours!

More about this shelter

The GCHS is comprised of an estimated 500 members, dedicated shelter staff, volunteers, board of directors, and a growing network of foster homes. Due to the commitment of these people, the GCHS has gone from a 62% kill rate in 1999 to a NO-KILL status. Our mission includes:
. Promoting compassionate and appropriate treatment of animals throughout Green and Lafayette Counties.
. Realizing the need to educate the general public in areas of animals' care, especially the need for spaying and neutering of animals to prevent further overpopulation.
. Diligently assisting law enforcement and the general public in the effort to end animal abuse.
. Devoted to the search for quality homes for every adoptable animal that comes into the shelter.
GCHS is dedicated to expanding the knowledge of and protection of animals we share our lives and world with.
