I NEED A HOME!
Sweet Gideon, who is a 2-year-old, neutered and underweight at 54 pounds, was rescued as a stray off the streets of Georgetown, SC. He was found extremely emaciated with his ears all flea bitten. He wore his paws raw pacing in the kennel and is also heartworm positive. He was scheduled to be euthanized until Jennifer McQuilken saw this boy in the shelter and decided to pay for his treatment and asked MAD rescue if we could take him in. His foster, John Wilt said that he would take care of this boy and give him a soft place to land so that he can heal and work through his heartworm treatment.
Gideon does great with other dogs and enjoys playing with them. He is very loving and gives his foster a hug when she comes home from work. He is also feisty with anything that moves and will try and take it! His foster has started basic obedience training with him and he is picking it up very quickly. Because Gideon has to be kept calm during his heartworm treatment, his foster has found alternative ways to keep him stimulated. It appears that he has a pretty good nose.
Gideon would do well in a family home with or without dogs and children older than 8 years of age. He has not been cat tested.
STRENGTHS:
Family dog
Likes other dogs
Loves his people
Medium drive
NEEDS WORK:
Basic obedience training
Cats
