Magpies are striking black and white birds known to be some of the world’s most intelligent creatures! They’ve shown the ability to make and use tools, imitate human speech, play games, and work in teams. Wow!! While we haven’t heard our canine Magpie imitate human speech, he sure does like to play and he will happily join your sprinting team!
Magpie recently enjoyed a day trip with a community member where he had the opportunity to go on a hike, ride in a car, hang out on a human bed, and play with toys! His new friend thinks that three of his best traits are his curiosity, playfulness and energy! While out on the town he liked to be outdoors, running and enjoying short hikes.
Magpie has shown the same energetic, sweet puppy-like behavior in the shelter. His volunteer friends love taking him for walks away from the craziness of the shelter; this young guy has perfect puppy energy and really benefits from walks to burn it off! His volunteer friends also share that he sits nicely for treats and ADORE his adorable teefers and striking patchwork face!
When meeting other dogs in playgroup Magpie has been social and playful. He loves running around the yard as fast as he can- this boy has the ZOOMY-ZOOMIES!! Magpie would like to meet any potential furry roommates before heading home to ensure a good fit.

Meet the Pet
Once you have decided which pets you are interested in, sign in for an adoption counselor who will guide you through the adoption process.

Take the Pet Home
Cats must leave in a carrier and dogs must leave in a carrier or on leash. We do have these available for purchase in our lobby store.
Additional adoption info
Year-Round Adoption Fees:
• Puppies and kittens less than 4 months old $50
• Adult dogs and cats $30
• A standard $20 dog license fee may apply
• Pets who have been waiting for more than 2 weeks for a family and pets over 5 years old $0 - Fee Waived!
Every adoption includes:
• Spay or neuter surgery
• First Vaccinations
• Microchip
• Vet visit certificate
• Pet insurance
