Becs Gentry (aka Frankie) is one in a million and she continually puts her best paw forward - literally. Becs Gentry is settling into city life and is the sweetest mama Boxer! Becs is a former breeder dog from Georgia, meaning she was used for $$, and never got to live a life. Hopefully thanks to you, she will no longer be in that position- and finally have a chance to live a great life and give someone so much joy. She definitley gives us joy everyday!
She's a 7 year old bundle of love who takes naps, wiggles her tail, follows us around wherever we go. She's quiet, patient and friendly with other dogs and people - kids included. In fact, she would do great with a family or with other small dogs or puppies! Just take a look at the video with her and the little puppy! She'll forever be a loving mama!
Becs Gentry is adjusting to new environments and expanding her comfort level - she's can be great ion leash but a little timid at times, but when given encouragement we've been seeing tons of improvement. She's fastly learning commands such as "come" and "sit" and "look at me". We're able to leave her at home unattended and outside the kennel for a few hours - we always find her either asleep or waiting by the door. Becs is also good in her Kennel over longer time periods. She sleeps in it at night with the door open.
Personality & Characteristics:
My foster dog is very mellow inside and well behaved, Good with other Dogs, People and Kids. She loves to play with other dogs - especially smaller ones.
My foster dog is: House trained and sleeps in a kennel at night. She wakes up early and likes to put her nose/paws on the edge of the bed to say "good morning".
3 Keywords for your pup - Low Key, Loving and Curious.
Energy Level - 1 (calm)
Quiet Pup
Walking Manners - Becs Gentry can stop at times on leash but with encourgement and treats she's improving her walking skills and gaining more confidence. She walks without pulling on leash and we've been able to get her running for short distances.
Appetite - Good appetite - food/treat motivated for walking and commands.
Does the following - Sleeps through the night, takes naps.
Favorite Things - Treats, Belly rubs, resting her head in our laps, following us around and wagging her tail. She's good at taking baths/showers and likes to have her teeth brushed.
Commands/Tricks - Can Sit when told. Very treat motivated.
Want to know more about Boxers? We found this information on the American Kennel Club website.
Loyalty, affection, intelligence, work ethic, and good looks: Boxers are the whole doggy package. Bright and alert, sometimes silly, but always courageous, the Boxer has been among America's most popular dog breeds for a very long time. A well-made Boxer in peak condition is an awesome sight. Their muscles ripple beneath a short, tight-fitting coat. The dark brown eyes and wrinkled forehead give the face an alert, curious look. Boxers move like the athletes they are named for: smooth and graceful. Boxers are upbeat and playful. Their patience and protective nature have earned them a reputation as a great dog with children. They take the jobs of watchdog and family guardian seriously and do best when exposed to a lot of people and other animals.
ALL adoptions require a completed application and final contract. The application can be found at WaldosRescue.org and once you are approved to adopt you will be put in touch with the foster to see if it’s a good match. We are a RESCUE not a shelter. We conduct veterinary and personal reference checks during the application approval process. We are unable to contact every applicant for every dog. We will select the best applicant for each dog, based on the dogs needs.
