Hello, I'm Trudy! I'm a sweet and affectionate 6-year-old girl who loves leaning in for pets and soaking up all the love I can get.
Trudy spent time in foster care and had this to say about her: "Trudy was napping when I picked her up for a girl's weekend. She woke up sweetly and ready to go even though this was our first encounter. After a quick walk to sniff, she jumped in the car then into the back seat where she rested her head on the headrest in front of her, staying that way for most of the trip. From the moment Trudy entered my home, she was polite and respectful, even waiting for an initial invite onto the furniture. I was surprised and pleased when she burrowed under the covers and snuggled up against me! What a bonus. She knows sit and paw commands and is housebroken. She loves toys and dried beef liver. Trudy is familiar with being dressed. While patiently standing, she allowed me to try out two t-shirts on her before settling on a jacket for her walk. This sweetheart loves the warm comforts of life. So, it's probably no surprise that she is polite on walks. Of the few dogs I've fostered, Trudy is the only one that didn't pull me down the steps when we exit the house. She even waits for me to close the door and say, 'ok' before carrying on. When encountering dogs out on walks in the neighborhood, she notices them but doesn't react to them. Her personality is a loving, trusting and comforting one. At one point while sleeping, she was awakened by a few fireworks. Trudy looked at me, I told her it was all right then she laid her down and went back to sleep. I'm confident in stating that this gal is well above average as far as souls go".

More about this shelter
Kitsap Humane Society is a private, nonprofit animal shelter. We rescue and rehome over 6000 pets each year. Every dog or cat leaves our shelter spayed or neutered and with complete vaccines and a microchip. We have been caring for animals in need since 1908 and envision a time when all adoptable pets have loving homes.
We are extremely proud of our exceptionally high “lives saved” rate of over 96%. Through our active adoption, behavior, foster, transfer, and veterinary programs, we are able to rehome every adoptable animal that enters our facility. No animal is ever euthanized for lack of space.
In addition to caring for and adopting animals, we also provide spay/neuter services to low income residents of Kitsap County, and provide Animal Rescue and Enforcement services to our surrounding municipalities.
