Meet Coal! - Coal is 2 years old and a very energetic dog that loves to be around people. He is very outgoing, loves going on walks, and is not shy in the slightest. Though, when walking him a harness would be best! Coal has a lot of energy but can also lay down and relax.

Coal is housetrained and is an extremely fast learner. He also knows how to use a dog door and loves to run in and out of it when he can. In general, he is very easy to be trained since he is younger.

He is amazing with other dogs and has done outstanding in our play groups. He loves being with other dogs and matches the energy of other dogs in the group.

He loves soft toys but rips them up almost immediately, so hard toys are recommended for him..

More about this shelter

In 1987, an initial attempt was made to organize a local humane society in Caroline County. While this attempt did not succeed, those same dedicated volunteers were not deterred.

From our humble beginnings 30 years ago, to where we are today, we are proud to be called “the little shelter that could”.

We provide service to our community through pet adoption, Rabies Clinics, Trap-Neuter-Return, Pet Pantry, Pet Lost & Found, Re-homing, Intake Diversion, Cremation
