Just like his name, good boy Apollo is out of this world!
Apollo is a 5 year old mixed breed and weighs 57 lbs. Apollo is a friendly & cuddly boy, quickly warming up to people and wanting pets. Apollo is a sweet boy with so many good qualities- he loves car rides and nothing will stop him from trying to crawl into your lap for a snuggle session. He has the one-ear-up look down pat and hey, speaking of pats, he sure loves to be pet! He absolutely loves chin rubs and ear scratches. Apollo does well with some dogs, but not all, so proper slow introductions or being kept separated is a must. Apollo is on anti-seizure meds, which seem to keep the seizures at bay as long as he is taking them. (Although his seizures are manageable, this is why he is labeled "special needs"). Apollo is a smart boy, so affectionate, and just so grateful for any attention. He is neutered, up to date on shots, and knows how to sit and give paw!
Sadly, he was found as a stray before being brought to the overcrowded city shelter. He quickly won hearts, as volunteers and shelter staff fell in love with Apollo and his happy smile. He was rescued from euthanasia and is now being fostered in Berks County, PA (transportation provided for approved adopters). Apollo gets along with some dogs, but not all so slow intros, meet & greets and/or being able to be separated is a must. (He may do better with female dogs).
If you can open your heart & home to dear Apollo please contact AmsterDog by call/text at 917-689-8414 or by email at info@amsterdog.org. Apply to adopt Apollo at AmsterDog.org

AmsterDog Rescue does not have its own facility. Instead, we rely on fosters to care for our beloved animals. Our available animals may change depending on your location and we do transport animals for adoptions within a reasonable distance. Since you will possibly be speaking with and meeting a foster directly, an application must be filled out prior to meet and greets.
