Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Barry is an 18-month-old, 60-pound Lab/Husky mix (with a hint of mystery breeds!) who’s as lovable as a big teddy bear. Found as a stray, Barry hasn’t let his past dampen his happy-go-lucky spirit. He’s a sweet, goofy boy who adores all pets—including cats—and people, making him the ultimate companion.
Barry has an amazing temperament—he’s easygoing, submissive, and always up for fun. He sleeps peacefully on dog beds, hasn’t had a single accident in the house, and loves every dog he meets. He’s also great with cats and gets along wonderfully with them. Meal times are his favorite, as he happily gobbles up all the food he’s given. Whether he’s playing in the yard, snuggling up for some affection, or just hanging out, Barry’s chill demeanor makes him a joy to have around.
If you’re looking for a sweet, goofy dog who’ll light up your home with love and laughter, Barry is ready to win your heart! Could this lovable teddy bear be your new best friend? IMPORTANT: Please read all below, especially if you live outside of Texas, which is where our rescue is located.
Apply to adopt on our website: https://www.charmingpetrescue.org/adopt
All of our animals are spayed/neutered, microchipped, and up to date on shots.
ALL of our animals are located in Boerne, TX, but transport after adoption is available to other states for a $300 fee for dogs or an additional fee varying by location for cats. If you are seeing our pets posted in your state, that's because you live near a transport stop, they are not currently at that location.
Petfinder lists our pets as "Out of Town" pets at other locations, and Adopt-a-Pet lists our location as a Transport stop. Those are currently the only options they offer to make this clear, so we put this description we've put at the bottom to explain it. You can read more about transport here: www.charmingpetrescue.org/transport
We understand transport is not an option for everyone, but we offer it at the cost we pay the transport company for those who wish to adopt from us.

More about this rescue
We're a home-based rescue, so there's always someone around to care for the dogs. Most of our dogs are allowed to roam the main yard (as long as they behave themselves), and we have several food and water stations throughout. Every evening, the dogs are tucked into our kennel building with soft bedding.
Our focus is family-friendly dogs who get along with everyone. Of course, we sometimes don't know a dog's temperament until we meet, but we work hard to ensure dogs are going to the right homes for them.
Mission Statement
To provide rescue, rehabilitation and new loving homes for dogs that have been living on the street, abused, abandoned and removed from high kill shelters.
