Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
SAM is a delightful young lady, a long stay at the shelter, patiently waiting for her forever home. The last in her trio of remaining siblings (Matty & Datty), she's still perfecting her "I'm cuter than my brothers" routine 😍. Sam cherishes her brothers but dreams of her own family—a place where she can truly shine and reveal her playful spirit.
Despite her "brown dog among many" status, Sam has a knack for standing out.... she's a beautiful blend of energy and charm, with a hint of shyness making her more endearing. Although she might be a bit camera shy, we assure you that she’s far more adorable in person! Sam has proven to be a great walking partner and a wonderful listener, always ready to accompany you on life's adventures.
By opening your heart and home to Sam, you'll not only fulfill her dreams but also gain a loving companion. Stop by today and see for yourself why Sam might be the girl for you. She’s patiently hoping to find someone who will see the unique spark💥 in her heart❤.

More about this shelter
The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
