Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Simmons is quite the character indeed! This little rascal has been through more name changes than a Hollywood starlet, thanks to his larger-than-life personality. When it comes to mealtime, Simmons transforms into a regular chatterbox, regaling everyone within earshot with his hilarious doggy tales and impassioned pleas for extra treats. But don't let his silly antics fool you - beneath that playful exterior beats the heart of a true sweetheart.
Simmons is a champion snuggler who lives for cuddles and belly rubs, and his affectionate nature has endeared him to kids and adults alike. He's still mastering the art of the leash walk, but with a little patience and a pocketful of tasty rewards, he's proving to be an attentive student (well, most of the time, anyway!).
Whether he's learning new tricks, hamming it up for his adoring fans, or just kicking back with his favorite humans, Simmons is always up for a good time - and he's sure to keep you laughing, loving, and marveling at his irresistible charm every step of the way!

More about this shelter
The Bastrop Animal Control organization became a reality in 1998. We've grown since then and continue to do so as Bastrop County grows. Currently, we have 3 separate buildings containing a total of 90 large indoor/outdoor kennels and 8 play yards. We have 30 indoor cat kennels. We also have a 3 room cattery, that enables cats to live together in colony type environments until they find their forever home. If you have ever worked with or adopted a shelter pet, you know just how much they crave the attention and love we and our volunteers can provide and their eternal gratitude when they find their forever home at last.
