My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet your new best friend, Harley! He is a sweet, affectionate, and attentive dog who is eager to find his forever home. This lovable pup has a heart full of love and is always ready to share his affection with everyone he meets. He is a little shy when he first meets you, but gets over his shyness pretty quickly. Harley thrives on human companionship and loves to be by your side, making him an ideal companion for anyone looking to add a furry friend to their family. He is always eager to please and learn from his human friends. Did we mention he does well with dogs? Harley is the total package if you ask us! Whether you’re enjoying a cozy night at home or going for a walk, Harley will be right there with you, bringing joy and happiness to your life. He’s ready to give all his love to his new family. Can you be that special person or family?

Harley is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date with his vaccines. His adoption fee is $150. Please email adoptions@hstt.org for more information.

*We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each dog based on personality and the behavior we’ve observed rather than a breed label.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

Pet ownership is a serious responsibility. The policy of the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is to ensure that each person who adopts a pet not only is aware of the responsibility, but that each person is willing and able to accept that responsibility morally, physically and financially. Not every person who desires to own a pet should own a pet.

The adoption application is designed to help us make the best placement possible — the right home for each animal and the right animal for your home. The adoption process takes time because we are committed to giving you all the information and support you need to have a successful adoption. We ask for your patience and cooperation in the joyful process of bringing people and animals together.

TO BE CONSIDERED FOR AN ADOPTION, YOU MUST:
• Be at least 18 years of age.
• Provide a suitable confined area for the animal.
• Understand that the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe reserves the right to deny any adoption.

Our adoption fees are as follows: Dogs (over five months) = $150.00 Puppies (under five months) = $200.00 Cats (over five months) = $75.00 Kittens (under five months) = $100.00 Adoption fees will be due upon completion of adoption. Cash, check or credit cards are gladly accepted.

Go meet their pets

Our shelter is located at 10961 Stevens Lane in Truckee, and we are open to the public Monday through Saturday from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm. We encourage potential adopters to come to the shelter to meet the animal they are interested in adopting during our public hours! Every pet adopted from the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe will be spayed or neutered, vaccinated & microchipped.

More about this shelter

The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe is dedicated to saving and improving the lives of pets through adoption, community spay/neuter and humane education programs. Founded in 1994 by a group of committed volunteers, the Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe has become the driving force in animal rescue and adoption for the Truckee region. Over time, we have grown from a small grass roots entity to a nationally recognized non-profit organization with seven employees and hundreds of dedicated volunteers.
