My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $275 + taxes
Location: CSHS Adoption & Wellness Center

Hi, I’m Carrot! My foster family says I’m shy, but I prefer to think of myself as an introvert who values peace and quiet. I’m looking for a calm, patient home where I can feel safe and loved. A house without young kids or dogs would suit me best.

At night, my brother and I turn into playful adventurers, chasing each other in a fun game of tag while the house is quiet.

I’ve been a perfect gentleman with my litter box and have a healthy appetite. And though I might be a little reserved, I enjoy when my foster family holds and pets me. Honestly, it feels pretty nice, and they always comment on how soft my fur is!

I’ll need extra time to warm up in my forever home. Deep down, I enjoy being around people—I just like to take things at my own pace. If you’re patient, gentle, and ready to give me the love and understanding I need, I promise I’ll be the sweetest companion you could ask for

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
